Here are a few of our ideas on how you can create some fantastic DIY decorations and also repurpose those Christmas decorations you have laying around your house.
1. Frightful Fairy Light Pumpkins
This is a nice and simple option if you want replace using candles – which can often get too hot, blow out or are not as bright as you’d like them to be. Simply pop your Battery Powered Fairy Lights into your carved pumpkin and enjoy how they make it glow!
If you’re feeling super creative, you can drill out a pattern of holes in your pumpkin and poke the lights through the holes to create an extra special effect.
As an added luxury, if you don’t fancy having to deal with craving one, you can get a reusable pumpkin that will serve you for many Halloweens to come.
2. Otherworldly Outdoor Lighting
Don’t make the mistake in thinking outdoor lights are for Christmas only.
Our RGB string lights are the perfect versatile lights, with a fantastic 7 colour options these lights are perfect for year round use – including Halloween.
We recommend using the purple, red or green lights to create a spooky atmosphere outside.
As an added bonus, your Christmas lights are then already up! All you have to do is pick which colour you want your Christmas theme to be – and you’re good to go for the festive season.
If you’re feeling extra creative, you can also use any outdoor string lights to make your very own giant glowing spiders web, creating the ultimate Halloween light spectacle.
3. Glowing Light Ball Ghosts
Who says ghosts have to be scary?
Use your LED Light Balls and have your home illuminated by these adorably spooky little specters. Using only a spare sheet and marker or black paper, cut your sheet to the size you want and draw/stick on your ghosts face, then simply place over your light ball.
To make taller ghosts, put your LED light balls on a stool, secure it so it won’t move with blue tac or similar then completely cover it all with your sheet, making sure everything underneath is hidden. You can also make your ghosts extra kitschy by adding hats, hair bows, bow ties etc. to personalise them so they fit your Halloween theme.
Best thing is, after Halloween your LED Light Balls can create a warm glow to brighten any room throughout the year.
4. Spooky Mummy Jars
Plain jars can get an adorable makeover with this fun Halloween craft. Use Mason jars, coffee jars or even glass baby food jars to create Mummies of different sizes and shapes.
Simply wrap bandages around any jar you like and stick on googley eyes. Then fill the jar with Battery Powered Fairy Lights to get your Mummy jar to glow.
By using fairy lights the jar never gets hot, so they can be moved around your home easily or even used as a fun trick-or-treating lantern!
And there is no need to stop at just Mummy’s. Paste on orange tissue paper and draw on a spooky face to make a pumpkin jar, or perhaps green tissue paper and bottle cap bolts for a Frankenstein jar. The possibilities are endless!
5. Spine-chilling Spider Baubles
Use our beautiful Clear Baubles to create spine-chilling spider baubles!
To make them extra spooky , fill our Clear Glass Look Shatterproof Christmas Baubles with creepy black glittered spiders, finishing them off with black or purple Satin Acetate Ribbon for a versatile Halloween decoration that will work in any part of your house.
Why not also put in stretched out cotton wool to look like cobwebs, to make an versatile Halloween decoration that can be hung anywhere in your home or stacked to make a unique table decoration.
