Energy efficient LED Lighting

Comparisons based on running 160 traditional small-bulb fairy lights or replacing them with 150 indoor LEDs; and 100 large-bulb outdoor Christmas lights replaced with 150 outdoor LEDs. Electricity cost on a estimated UK average of 10p per unit (kilo-watt per hour), and running the lights for a 6-week period for 12 hours a day.

Gone are the days of buying spare christmas light bulbs each year.

Originally only produced in red, their popularity grew when other colours were introduced and unlike filament bulbs which are white with a coloured glass cap LEDs are actually coloured semi conductors so the light is a brighter truer colour.

In regular incandescent bulbs the light is produced by the heating of the light filament which is completely wasted energy. LED lights produce no heat, they are cool to the touch and are very eco friendly. There is no UV, lead or mercury in LEDs so they are perfect for eco projects and green business schemes.

We would estimate our LEDs should last up to 100,000 hours and use 90% less energy than a traditional filament set of Christmas lights would.
